  15. <p>     DIED. ERIK ERIKSON, 91, psychoanalyst and author; in Harwich,
  16. Massachusetts. Erikson was a disciple of Sigmund Freud's--but where Freud emphasized sex as a shaper of personality, Erikson
  17. focused on social interactions. Such writings as his 1950 classic
  18. Childhood and Society identified discrete psychological stages
  19. in a human life. His concept of the "identity crisis," a key
  20. problem of adolescence, entered the popular vocabulary. Erikson
  21. wrote a number of heavily psychological biographies of such
  22. seminal historical figures as Jesus, Einstein, and Darwin. His
  23. Gandhi's Truth won a Pulitzer Prize in 1970.
